Description
The Martin Luther King Jr. Presidential Award for Lifetime Achievement & Commitment to the Dream was established in 1992. The award recognizes an outstanding community servant that has exemplified the character, dedication and goals of Dr. King during their lifelong work and commitment to the New Orleans community. The recipient should be a long time resident of New Orleans .

Description
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award acknowledges outstanding student achievement in community service. Recipients of this award exemplify the principles, standards, and ideology of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
To be eligible for this award, students must meet the following criteria
Criteria
Be a full-time student of Dillard, Loyola, Tulane or Xavier Universities .
In good academic standing: Minimum G.P.A. 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Have good moral character, displaying attributes such as honesty, fairness, conscientiousness, compassion and diplomatic skills.
Have a good community service background.
Must perform a consistent record of community service during their university career.
Dedicated to the improvement of the community.
