Since 1987, the Office of Multicultural Affairs has served Tulane University and the Greater New Orleans area. We strive to promote the rich cultural resources of the Tulane Community and prepare students for the unique challenges of living in a more ethnically-diverse world. Tulane University and the city of New Orleans share common threads of cultural pluralism and diversity. The Office of Multicultural Affairs seeks to celebrate this feature as one of the greatest assets this University and this city have to offer.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs was established as a part of the Division of Student Affairs to:
-
Provide ethnic minority and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender students with the academic, social and personal support and advocacy services that facilitate their adjustment to the University.
-
Help foster within the University community a respect for and an appreciation of the history, tradition, and culture of ethnic minority and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender student groups.
-
Assist academic and administrative departments in implementing policies, programs and activities to increase the number of ethnic minority students that enroll and graduate from Tulane University.
